International Womens Day – Wednesday 8th March
On International Women’s day, we celebrate the inspirational founder of the Medway Netball League, Pam Woolmer. In 1954 Pam gathered some friends and neighbours to a village hall in Cuxton and there started the Medway and Maidstone Netball league ( Later to become the Medway netball league). Pam continued to grow the league and enjoyed the love of the game with her daughter Janet, and granddaughter Amy who both still play.
In 2020, our beloved Pam passed away, but she left behind a legacy that will continue to grow for years to come. We are forever grateful to Pam and will continue to enjoy the successful Pam Woolmer Rally in her memory. Pam is an inspiration to us all that if you have a dream and a passion, with a little determination you can reach your goals.
