Medway Netball League achieved a Marathon Record for playing non-stop competitive netball for 54 hours in 1972 breaking the previous record by 6 hours.

3,820 goals were scored – averaging nearly 3 goals a minute!

Play started at 11 pm on Friday 27th October and finished at 4 am on Monday 30th October allowing for the clock being put back an hour at 3 am on Sunday 29th.

Play was continuous with no breaks being taken during the games which were played on a rotating basis, one game starting at the finishing whistle of the previous one.  Each team was on court for 18 hours.
