Senior League News

In previous years we would now be on an Easter break from netball but due to the adverse weather over the winter we still have winter league games scheduled until the end of April.  Fingers crossed for better weather and even some sun over the coming months.

Some teams are running out of score cards. You can print some off from the website and the Committee has also put a few spares in a plastic envelope on the notice board in the Pavilion. Please only take what you need.

We look forward to welcoming all teams to the summer league which starts w/b 6 May.  The fixtures will be sent out this coming weekend and teams will have one week to check them. Change requests can only be made if there are exceptional circumstances and should be put in writing with the reason for a proposed change to the divisional rep by 6pm on Sunday 7 April.  Teams requesting the change must have the agreement of the other team and confirm with the Divisional Rep this has been secured. We expect there to be minimal requests for change so teams should begin to source umpires once they have received their fixtures. Any changes to games will be notified to the relevant teams by close on 10 April.

A few teams have asked why we aren’t holding a fixtures night this year. The feedback we had was this wasn’t needed due to forms and payments now being able to be submitted online. Nothing is ever set in stone, and we will have this as an item for discussion at the AGM later this year.

On Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th May Committee members will be at the Courts. Please direct any queries to them on the night.

Junior and Senior News

We are pleased to announce that the school has purchased new posts and these are now in situ. The school will also be making improvements to the perimeter fence which should mean courts 4 and 5 are now playable but we have tried to accommodate games on the other courts where possible.

Save the date – subject to final confirmation from the school – SATURDAY 7 SEPTEMBER 2024 – will be a celebration day for 70 years of the founding of the Medway Netball League. Further details will be circulated shortly.

And finally, the MNL and MJNL Committee would like to send best wishes to everyone celebrating Easter and Eid in the coming weeks.

Good luck to everyone for the forthcoming summer netball season.
