MJNL is looking to trial players for the Kent County League competition in the following age categories; U14, U16 and U18.

  • Players in the Under 18 League must be over 15 and under 18 (usually school years 11, 12 & 13) on the qualifying date.
  • Players in the Under 16 League must be over 14 and under 16 (usually school years 10 & 11) on the qualifying date.
  • Players in the Under 14 League must be over 11 and under 14 (usually school years 7, 8 & 9) on the qualifying date.

The qualifying date for the League will be midnight on 31st August 2024 .

This is a new venture for MJNL and there is no guarantee that we will be successful in gaining entry into any of the leagues. However, we believe we do have a good standard of play across the league and feel this is something we would like to test which would benefit both players and coaches. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Players need to be able to commit to the matches which are played monthly on a Sunday from September through to April/May.

U14’s and U16 games are played at Rainham School for Girls. U18 players need to be able to travel across the County.

The trials for the league are in late June and to begin the process the MJNL will hold open trials on Sunday 2 June from 9.00 am until 3.30pm.

Further details about how the trials will be run will be sent out once we know numbers.

Whilst we are holding open trials which means there is no qualifying standard, we would encourage parents/carers and players to have a discussion with their coaches in advance of submitting an application.

  • Players must hold England Netball membership.
  • Players must be registered with a current team playing in the summer league of MJNL
  • Players from registered clubs under England Netball Membership are not eligible to trial as they have their own pathway to enter the County League. Our records show these clubs are Macklins, Comets and GNG.

Selectors are looking for;

  • Athletes with good basic skills, a good attitude and able to respond positively to direction
  • Athletes who are ready to play any position and demonstrate good team play.
  • Athletes who show energy and enjoyment while on the court.
  • Athletes who love playing lots of netball and who can commit to being available for the matches.

The cost for the trial is £5 per player. MJNL does not want to prevent any player from entering due to financial constraints. If this is an issue, coaches or parents/carers should speak to any member of the Committee.
