Safeguarding newsletter MNL AND MJNL – September 2024
Welcome back to netball and we hope everyone enjoyed playing the first matches last weekend in the junior league. A couple of teams had byes last week so good luck to them in their first venture out this coming Saturday.
The senior league start is a few weeks away. We wish good luck to all teams.
We hope everyone has mastered ENGAGE and has remembered to name your safeguarding leads. This is a quick reminder of a few safeguarding things.
- All players in the junior league are under 18 years of age and are children. Please make sure all coaches, team managers and spectators remember that and act in a positive and encouraging way to all players on both teams.
- Many players in the senior league are under 18 years of age and the safeguarding policy applies to all children and vulnerable adults. We request that teams who have under 18’s in their team do have a parent or an appropriate adult present at all games.
- We would not be able to operate without our umpires. We request that all umpires are treated with respect and any abuse directed towards them will not be tolerated. Those umpires who are wearing green arm bands means they are under 18 years of age. Umpires under the age of 18 years of age operating in the senior league must have a parent or appropriate adult present.
- It is important that all coaches are aware of the league’s safeguarding policy which can be found in the documents centre on the website Documents – Medway Netball League
- Coaches should be aware of England Netball requirements around DBS checks and ensure they are compliant. England Netball | Safeguarding Policies and Guidance
- AND REMEMBER – ANY SAFEGUARDING QUESTIONS – DO ASK; DO NOT KEEP CONCERNS TO YOURSELF.
KEEPING YOUR SAFEGUARDING KNOWLEDGE UP TO DATE
